“Before I ever turned a wrench, I was a kid sitting on the floor, surrounded by Hot Wheels — JDM, Euro, and American muscle — building a vision in my head long before I could build it in real life. Those cars weren’t toys to me; they were symbols of freedom. When I finally got my license, the garage became my sanctuary. Long nights, busted knuckles, and quiet focus shaped not just my builds, but who I became. Streetwear was a natural extension of that identity — because what we wear should carry the same intention and pride as what we build.”
You weren't meant to stay stuck, you were meant to build and create
the garage is my escape
The garage is where I go when everything else feels off. When the days start blending together, when your 6am-5pm job doesn’t mean anything, when you can feel yourself getting pulled further away from the life you actually want. Out there, it’s easy to get stuck—trading time for something that drains you, knowing deep down you’re capable of more.
In here, there’s no hiding from the problems because every project has your hard earned time and passion built in to it. Every project may not go exactly how you want it to. For me, it always takes longer than I expect to get through with what seemed to be a simple task or project. You end up getting frustrated. You question why you even started. But you keep going—because quitting would feel worse than the struggle itself. So you take it one step at a time, one problem at a time, until eventually… it comes together.
It starts. It runs. And in that moment, everything makes sense.
That feeling isn’t just about the car—it’s proof of what you’re capable of. Building something you love will demand more from you than staying comfortable ever will. But one path leaves you stuck, and the other gives you something real. Even if no one else understands it—it’s yours. And that’s enough.
Why did I start
I started Garage Built Society because I've always wanted to start something that felt like mine. The garage was always more than a place—it was where I could think clearly, create freely, and build something real with my hands. Over time, I realized that same feeling was missing from the rest of my life. This brand became my way of chasing that freedom again—and sharing it with others who feel stuck, burnt out, or disconnected from what they love. If this can encourage even one person to start building something of their own, then every reason I have to for Garage Built Society to exist is already worth it.
A little about my journey
This started for me when I realized that I was falling in to a cycle of feeling comfortable in a career that wasn't as rewarding as I thought it was going to be. Year after year, you get just enough of a pay increase that keeps you there although it is never enough but you fought through every problem, hit every deadline, exceeded in every way because your work ethic is unmatched. I realized that I needed something of my own. Something that gave me freedom, freedom from my 6am-5pm job. I realized that while I liked what I did, was good at it, it was not giving me the life freedom and lifestyle that I had dreamed so long to have. I made the decision that it was time, it was time to start taking control because there wasn't anyone that was going to give me the dream of having a life that I built. A life that I built for my family, a life that gave us the freedom to do the things that we want. A life where I can build the things that I love. That is why I started!
